Here are the latest criminals to have been jailed in Wales in the past month.

There are more than 80 on the list that includes a man who killed a convicted rapist with a plank of wood and a dad who took speeding points for his newly-qualified teenage son just months before the teen was at the wheel of a car involved in a fatal crash.

There was also a man jailed for life for the horrific murder of his partner. Carl Silcox, 45, murdered Adell Cowan and she was found dead on a bed at his home.

His sentencing came as once again, several men who attacked their partners or former partners also feature in the list, including a thug knocked his partner unconscious after dragging her into a bath and repeatedly punching her to the face. Carl Silcox

The family of a woman murdered by her partner who caused her horrific internal injuries with a broom handle described their "living hell". They condemned the killer for the baseless lies he told in court that added to their grief.

Carl Silcox, 45, murdered Adell Cowan, 43, who was found dead on a bed at his home in Caerphilly on October 18, 2020. She was discovered after Silcox called the police from a phone box and told the operator "I just woke up and my missus is dead."

Ms Cowan was declared dead by paramedics who attended Dol Yr Eos, in Mornington Meadows shortly after 12.10am. She had been dead for some hours. A post mortem was carried out which resulted in the discovery of severe internal injuries. Ms Cowan had also sustained a laceration to her spleen and the lining of her pelvis. The victim also had facial injuries.

Andrew Southwood

The murderer who killed a convicted rapist with a plank of wood was jailed for life. He left the victim, his partner's brother, with internal bleeding which caused his death outside his Newport flat.

The 39-year-old mortally wounded Carl Ball, 51, outside his home in Heron Way, Duffryn, on August 19, 2022, just minutes after Mr Ball had been dropped off by PCSOs. They were called back to the scene and discovered the victim lying injured outside the flat.

A trial at Newport Crown Court heard Mr Ball was was “gaunt, pale, and complaining that he could not breathe”. By this stage he was “slowly dying” from internal bleeding coming from muscle tissue and the spleen, which had been torn in multiple places. As he lay dying Mr Ball told officers “Southwood” was responsible for the attack.

Shane Davies

The former member of armed forces assaulted an elderly man by kicking him in the face with steel toecap boots after he drove into the back of him. The victim suffered "significant injuries" to his right eye which was closed up.

Davies, 49, assaulted driver Roger Wysom in Newport on February 19, 2020, following a collision near the Tredegar Park roundabout. A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court on Thursday heard Mr Wysom was travelling from Cardiff to Newport when the defendant's works Transit van collided with the rear of his car.

Edward Weeks

He filmed himself raping and sexually assaulting his partner as she slept leading her to take her own life following the discovery of what he had done.

Weeks recorded the attack on motion-sensitive cameras set up in his bedroom but his victim remained unaware of what had happened until she found the videos of the attack on her partner's phone

Dewi George

The dad took speeding points for his newly-qualified teenage son just months before the teen was at the wheel of a car involved in a fatal crash.

In February last year Owain Hammett-George was caught speeding in his father's Alfa Romeo car but rather than risk his son's newly-acquired licence dad George lied to the authorities and said he had been driving.

Three months later 17-year-old Mr Hammett-George was again driving his dad's Alfa Romeo when it was involved in a crash on Gower that claimed the lives of two of his passengers – 19-year-old friends Kaitlyn Davies and Ben Rogers.

Teresa Morgan-Peters and Kathryn Llewellyn

The two women broke into a neighbour's flat in the dead of night and poured bleach over her before repeatedly slashing her to the face and body with a knife.

Llewelyn and Morgan-Peters wore "ghoulish" masks and remained silent during the shocking raid, which was apparently prompted by a dispute over comments made on social media. Swansea Crown Court heard the victim has been left with scars to her face, legs, and arms, and feels "sick" when she sees her reflection. She described how she was living in a nightmare from which she could not escape, and is living a life of "fear, embarrassment and shame". Read their sentencing here.

Daran Hill

A paedophile who used to work as a top political consultant distributed sickening images of child abuse as young as three years old to others on the internet. He played a significant role in two Welsh devolution campaigns and served as an advisor to the Welsh Conservatives.

The 52-year-old was arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency on August 25, 2021. A search of a white iPhone and Acer laptop revealed he was in possession of indecent images of children. It was also discovered he had been distributing the images to other perverted individuals using apps such as Kik and WhatsApp.

Dale Edey

A woman was grabbed by a man pretending to look for a dog who attempted to drag her to bushes and sexually assault her. She "screamed her lungs off" but was told by her attacker "Shut up or I'll kill you."

Edey, 38, targeted his victim as she walked through Bute Park in Cardiff at around 6.30am on August 31 last year. She was terrified as he wrapped his arms around her and forcibly kissed her, before attempting to drag her towards an isolated area of the park. Read his sentencing here.

Dwain Roberts

The thief targeted a man using a cash machine outside a shop and was caught on CCTV stealing his wallet which contained more than £100. He later claimed he had taken the wallet in order to fund his drug addiction.

Roberts, 37, approached his victim Glyn Owen outside a Tesco Express in Cardiff on June 9 and grabbed hold of his wallet. A scuffle took place between the two men which caused the wallet to tear in half, and the robber got away with cash.

Rhian Carpenter

The English teacher in a prison began a romantic relationship with a prisoner and then smuggled phones in for him. Carpenter, 45, placed her prison colleagues at risk by providing the phones, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

Carpenter started teaching at HMP Parc in May 2022 and soon one of her students passed his course and applied to be her teaching assistant. The man, who was in prison for drug offences, subsequently asked her to smuggle a phone in for him, which she did.

Daniel Winmill

The jealous boyfriend threatened to slit his girlfriend's throat while armed with a pair of scissors after she and a friend talked about her ex boyfriend. He went on to assault her by pushing her into a wall.

Winmill, 28, made threats to kill his then partner at her Barry home on February 20. The couple had been in a relationship since 2018 and had one child together. Read the sentencing here.

Edward Curtis

The teacher groomed a child and started a sexual relationship with her. Curtis, was charged with sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.

He was charged with seven counts of the offence, all of which he pleaded not guilty to. He was convicted by a jury on June 12, 2023 of three counts upon one victim. He was found not guilty in regards to four counts relating to another girl. Both children have the right to lifelong anonymity. Read the sentencing here.

Steven Jones

A member of staff at a primary school, the 51-year-old was found in possession of indecent images of children including the most serious category. The man was said to have been "immediately removed from the school" after the offences came to light.

The employee of Ynyshir Primary School in Porth, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of indecent images of children. These included 109 category A images, 150 category B images and 75 category C images. It's not suggested any pupils from the school were depicted in the images. Read the sentencing here.

Jonathan Swift

The convicted paedophile sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl he approached in the street by touching her breasts and vagina and forcibly kissing her. After the assault, he grabbed hold of her mobile and entered his phone number.

Swift, 34, approached his young victim in Caerphilly at around 5.45pm on April 9. She did not know the defendant, who asked her for a lighter. He went on to ask her if she was single, and when being told she was 16 years old he told her she looked older and lied about his own age. Read the sentencing here.

Andrew Powell and James Biggs

The car thieves were found in possession of multiple vehicles including a £20,000 Jaguar when they were apprehended by police. One of them was also found in possession of a items used to steal cars without a key.

Powell, 44, and Biggs, 35, were also found in possession of a Ford Transit and a Honda motorbike after being tracked to a car park in Caerphilly. Powell drove to the outskirts of Cardiff in an attempt to escape but was stopped by a stinger.

Mark Whitelock

The 41-year-old was found in possession of more than 1,000 images of child abuse and extreme pornography. Children as young as one-year-old were depicted in the sickening images.

Whitelock was visited by police at his home in Swansea on April 30 last year after they received intelligence relating to indecent images of children being downloaded. A number of electronic devices were seized including a Samsung phone.

James Davies

He pretended to have post-traumatic stress disorder, punched a woman to the face and sexually assaulted her in a Swansea hotel.

Davies attended the Grand Hotel with a woman on August 19, 2022, and they had consensual sex together, however the victim fell asleep, and woke to see Davies, who had taken cocaine that evening, pacing the floor in an aggressive state. Read the sentencing here.

Jonathan Jackson

The drugs courier and his girlfriend were found in possession of more than £10,000 worth of cocaine when they were stopped by police travelling back from Liverpool to south Wales. A total of 250g of the class A drug were found in total.

Jackson, 34, and Katie Jones, 26, were stopped on May 23 between junction 30 for Cardiff East and junction 32 for Cardiff North and Merthyr Tydfil. Police had received intelligence the couple were potentially involved in the supply of drugs. Read their sentencing here.

Glyn Dorrington

The drug dealer poured a drum of petrol onto a kitchen floor and threw a lit tea towel onto it after holding a knife to his partner's throat. Before lighting the blaze, he told his partner "If you want to take me for a ride? I'll show you a ride to hell."

The 31-year-old held a knife to his partner's throat and headbutted her before lighting the fire at the home they shared in New Tredegar, Caerphilly, on January 7, 2021. The blaze was caught on CCTV footage and showed a small explosion before it was put out by the defendant.

Ethan Bartlett

The thug with a history of violence launched a "cowardly" attack on a man who was pushing a pram along the street, punching his victim to the ground and causing serious brain injuries.

Bartlett approached his victim from behind and struck him to the head, sending him crashing to the ground where his head "bounced" off the pavement. The man was knocked out and suffered serious bleeding on the brain which has affected his speech, memory, and cognition. Read the sentencing here.

Shane Lovell and Steven Cole

The drug dealers were caught driving home from Swansea with a fresh stash of heroin when police intercepted their car.

Lovell and Cole were stopped as they returned to Pembrokeshire when officers acted on intelligence reports suggesting the car was linked to drugs trafficking. Lovell was subsequently found to have heroin in a foil wrap concealed in his anus and said he had travelled to Swansea to get the drug because it was cheaper.

Colin Luce

The serial thief with severe learning difficulties was caught in the act by a resident when he burgled his house and attempted to steal his electric bike. He was detained by the victim until the police arrived.

Luce, 34, broke into a house in Cwmbran on August 9 last year when the occupant was at home and attempted to steal an electric bike. The victim chased after him as the defendant threw the bike away and grabbed hold of Luce until the police, who had been called by a neighbour, arrived.

Gary Hillman

The drink driver crashed twice and set off his airbags before continuing to drive on the wrong side of the road towards an ambulance. The driving was described as a judge as "sheer lunacy".

The 48-year-old was more than three times the drink drive limit when he drove his works van through Bangor on January 5. He later told police he had been drinking vodka, and had been knocked unconscious during one of the crashes which left him "confused".

Pasha Renis

The cannabis dealer was caught after going to a hospital with serious machete wounds.

When Renis was searched by police at the hospital he was found to be carrying £780 in cash while a search of his nearby car uncovered another £7,200 in the glovebox.

Ajet Allushi, Bashkin Papis and Orges Hoxha

A cannabis factory containing more than 400 plants with a potential value worth up to £188,000 was being tended to by the three gardeners from Albania. They were found hiding in the bathroom of the property which had been set up to grow cannabis.

Alushi, 20, Papis, 40, and Hoxha, 25, were discovered working at a house in Ogmore Vale, Bridgend, when the property was raided by officers from the organised crime unit on February 18. Two rooms at the house were found to contain 432 cannabis plants, along with hydroponic lights, fans, electronic transformers and nursery plants.

Vicky Moody

She was found in possession of more than £3,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine after she became aggressive when police were conducting a welfare check. She attempted to throw rocks of cocaine away but it landed on the bed in the officers' view.

The 33-year-old was arrested at a house in Newport on January 5 when police went to visit a vulnerable man who lived there. The defendant was sitting on a sofa holding a make-up bag but told the police to leave as they "had no right to be there".

Damon Evans

The drug dealer was found to have offered cocaine and cannabis to customers after messages were discovered on his mobile phone. He later told police he was dealing in order to fund his own drug addiction.

Evans, 26, of Rhymney, was arrested by police in May this year on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs of both class A and class B. The defendant appeared to be "confused" as to why he was being arrested. Read his sentencing here.

Kane Hexter

He had a stash of drugs when he was busted after two police officers intervened in a fight over an e-scooter in Cardiff. A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court was told two South Wales Police officers noticed the 20-year-old having a scuffle with another man in Queen Street in Cardiff on June 20, 2021.

Megan Jones, prosecuting, told the court how officers Jones and Evans suspected Hexter, who was 18 at the time, had been trying to take the other man’s scooter and they saw him reach for his pocket. Believing him to be reaching for a weapon Ms Jones said the officers approached Hexter to prevent the incident escalating.

Michael Stewart

The paedophile raped a young girl multiple times - and then arranged her to be abused by other men. Stewart subjected the youngster to "virtually indescribable suffering and misery" between the ages of 10 and 16.

Mold Crown Court heard that the 41-year-old also sent images of his crimes against her to others, urinated on her and made her pose with a derogatory word written on her body. A judge was also told he covertly filming her. Read the sentencing here.

Sebastian Jahja

He was caught tending plants in a Welsh cannabis farm came to UK from his native Albania "to build a better future".

Jahja worked as a so-called "gardener" for a gang that was operating a cannabis plantation in a terraced house near Llanelli after crossing the English Channel in a small boat. He later told police that people back in Albania "work very hard for very little".

Lee Bird

He smuggled a knife into a busy nightclub and became involved in a fight on the dancefloor before stabbing an innocent bystander.

Bird was seen "swinging" the blade around before before plunging it into his victim's chest causing panic in the club as people tried to get out of his way. The victim has been left with a permanent scar on his chest as a result of the attack.

Jordan Ahearne

The crack cocaine dealer was caught following a foot chase with police through Swansea streets.

Ahearne made off after officers stopped to speak to him, and was detained while trying - and failing - to scale a garden hedge. A subsequent examination of his phones showed messages which detailed his involvement in drug dealing.

Nicholas Lyon

The bully made a woman's life "truly miserable" after he threatened to post a sexual video of her to the internet which had been filmed without her consent. He also sent her a horrendous voice message in which he threatened to kill her.

Lyon, 40, of Criccieth, Gwynedd, sent a video to his victim having sexual intercourse, which she did no consent to and was unaware she was being recorded. He told her if she stopped speaking to him she would post the video online.

Jamie and Sarah Frederickson

The married couple were selling cocaine and heroin from the window of their home.

The domestic dealing operation came to light after police found Jamie Frederickson collecting a stash of drugs from his supplier ready for onward sale. When police raided the house he and his wife shared in Swansea they found cocaine and heroin along with a collection of knives and other weapons including a crossbow, a so-called zombie knife, and an extendable baton which was found hidden inside a cat scratching post.

Drew McKeown

This is the face of a former soldier who raped an elderly woman. McKeown visited the victim at her Blaenau Gwent home last year after she had "taken pity" on him and given him cigarettes. But he went on to sexually assault and rape her, despite her begging for him to stop.

He then refused to leave her property until the next day when he used her bank card details to travel to Newcastle. The 37-year-old then tried to claim he was innocent - and that she had consented to having sex with him - forcing her family to endure a crown court trial

Alun Jones

The convicted paedophile approached a group of four young girls and grabbed hold of them while trying to show them a pornographic video on his phone.

The girls were left "terrified and hysterical" following the incident, after which a search was launched by parents and police to find the offender.

Craig Gough

The killer driver punched his partner in the nose after attempting to throw a knife at her. He then harassed her by pleading with her to forgive him and take him back

Gough, 41, was jailed for three years in 2018 after he fell asleep at the wheel and ploughed into three cyclists. Jack Berry, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, following the collision on the A48 near Pentre Meyrick, Vale of Glamorgan.

Following his release from prison, Gough began a relationship with his current victim.

Desmond Wright

The paedophile found in possession of video of babies being raped fell to his knees and wept when the police turned up at his door. He told an officer that he was a "horrible person" after more than 1,000 indecent images of children were discovered on various devices.

Wright, 38, of Pontypridd, was arrested at his home on May 31 after South Wales Police received intelligence that child abuse material had been uploaded to a file-sharing site. Some of the material was linked to the defendant's address in Garth Avenue, Glyncoch, and officers attended his home at 7am.

Darren Davies

The "habitual" shoplifter slashed at shop staff with a blade after being caught stealing steaks.

Davies had gone to the shop with his partner to steal items to sell in order to fund their drug habits, and then lashed out with a weapon after being challenged by security staff. The 40-year-old has more than 60 thefts from shops among his record of 161 previous offences, and has been committing crimes of various kinds for a quarter of a century.

Jack Delaney

The violent offender kicked, punched and knifed a man who was "minding his own business" in the middle of Swansea.

Delaney repeatedly struck his victim as he sat on the floor before chasing him and stabbing him in the back causing a collapsed lung which resulted in life-threatening complications. The 23-year-old defendant has a history of violent offending including inflicting grievous bodily harm and being part of a gang of "feral" youngsters who set traps to attack and rob takeaway delivery drivers.

Christopher Flipping

The former soldier caught red-handed dealing drugs from his car sped off with an undercover police officer hanging from the window of his vehicle.

The officer managed to get a cuff on one of Flipping's wrists before the defendant drove away, dragging the policeman along the street for a short distance.

Peter John

The thug knocked his partner unconscious after dragging her into a bath and repeatedly punching her to the face. The victim was covered in blood and crawled to a neighbour's flat for help.

John, 33, brutally assaulted his then-partner at her home in Porthcawl on April 12 after an argument following a night out. She sustained multiple injuries and a suspected broken nose as a result of the attack.

Rodney Roberts

The fraudster lied to a woman that he was an American attorney and successful businessman who could make her money by investing her funds in the stock market. She transferred him £8,500 in instalments which he pocketed and spent.

Roberts, 37, of Cardiff, befriended his victim in July 2021 using the alias Paul Smith and convinced her into sending him thousands of pounds while promising her there would be no losses and she was set to make significant sums of money in investments. He also went to the extent of showing the victim an app which purported to show where her money was going.

Bradley McCann

The intoxicated driver under the influence of Valium and cocaine refused to stop for police and claimed he was "too wrecked" to provide a sample for testing. He also told police he was drinking 41% proof alcohol while behind the wheel.

McCann, 28, became involved in a police chase in Barry in the early hours of June 19 when officers were called to a "disturbance" in Holton Road. But the defendant left the scene in a green Fiat Punto.

Malcolm John West

The paedophile who previously sexually abused children and engaged in sexual conversations with a child breached a court order after failing to tell the authorities about a mobile phone. He claimed he had "forgotten" to notify his probation officer about the device.

The 63-year-old, of Cardiff, was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order in August last year after he was convicted of engaging in sexual communications with a child. As part of the order, the defendant was required to keep probation informed of his address and to register any electronic devices.

Marcus Margetson

The man stole and drank two bottles of wine before deliberately setting fire to a friend's flat.

After torching the property Margetson rang 999 to report what he had done, and to say there were other people in the block. The victim's property was gutted in the blaze, and among the items lost to the flames were irreplaceable photographs of his late mother.

Peter Bingham

The child abuser sexually assaulted two young girls - which led one of his victims to feel suicidal and self harming so "no man would ever want to touch her again". The paedophile bought presents for the victims and told them to keep it a secret.

The 54-year-old, targeted the two girls while he was living in Flintshire, by placing his hands on their vaginas and pressing himself up against them. He stopped abusing his older victim when she began puberty, before turning his attentions to another victim. Read the sentencing here.

Joshua Waldron

The paedophile distributed video and images of child sexual abuse depicting children as young as five-years-old.

He was also found to have conversations with other depraved individuals in discussions about what he referred to as "young p****". Read his sentencing here.

Lwyanna Thomas

The woman who told a court that she “was not a dominatrix” invited a man back to her flat for a night of drinking and then stabbed him as she was giving him a massage.

The 47-year-old went to a local shop to buy alcohol with James Hollingworth on the evening of September 14 last year, a court heard.

When they got back to her home they drank and listened to music. She then asked if he wanted a massage. He agreed and took off his shirt and Thomas began to massage his back. While he was lying down she stabbed him in the shoulder with a vegetable knife.

Samson Leyson, Stephen Leyson and Ritchie Coleman

The head of a family-based drug gang that operated across west Wales was found with a semi-automatic handgun. The organised crime group, led by the Leyson clan, supplied cocaine and cannabis in significant quantities to a network of dealers across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Swansea from their compound near Carmarthen.

As part of his operation dad Stephen Leyson had a handgun - an Italian 9mm semi-automatic pistol believed to be the first such weapon recovered by Dyfed-Powys Police. Members of the gang have been jailed for 20 years - though the mother of the family, Lynne, failed to turn up at court and a warrant has been issued for her arrest. Read the full sentencing here.

Stewart Conn

The Swansea man sent pictures of his penis to two girls he thought were only 13 years old but who were in fact adult decoys who passed his details onto police.

Conn, 33, sent messages via Facebook to two girls named ‘Lilly’ and ‘Libby’. Read what happened next here

Daniel Rowberry and Jody Jones

The two men were found with up to £100,000 of cocaine after the car they were travelling in was stopped by police using a stinger. When the was searched, a block of cocaine weighing 1kg was discovered.

Rowberry, 34, and Jones, 35, of Tredegar, attempted to escape with the driver Jones ramming the police car but the tyres of the Toyota were punctured and the car came to a stop on Merthyr Road. Rowberry was seen attempting to discard a mobile phone.

Caitlin Evans

She contacted a charity and told them she was going to kill her own sister with two razor blades. She told the phone operator "I have been to prison and will go again, I will kill her."

The 24-year-old, of Barry, made a phone call to Meic Cymru on May 15, a helpline for children and young people. She told the operator she was in possession of two razor blades, and was going to kill her sister and herself over a "perceived slight".

Lester Gibson

The drug dealer was found in possession of more than £25,000 worth of heroin and cocaine as well as expensive items stolen in a burglary.

Among the items found at his home were a Louis Vuitton bag, Milwaukee drill, a Tag Heur watch, Airpods and a Burberry handbag.

Jami Davies

The pervert who sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 16 was told "Don't be a paedophile" by his victim as he abused her. She later told her attacker "F*** you, I'm a child." Read his sentencing here.

Adrian Thomas

A man was left with a brain injury after he was assaulted outside a nightclub and repeatedly punched by his attacker while laying unconscious on the floor. The victim was out celebrating his birthday and said the assault was "completely unprovoked".

Thomas, 42, assaulted James McCormick outside the Liquid Lounge in Maesteg, Bridgend, on August 31, 2021. The defendant was said to have attacked the victim by punching him several times to the face, knocking him unconscious.

David Tyrrell and David Allsopp

The two builders from England helped to transport tens of thousands of pounds worth of amphetamine from Manchester to Cardiff.

Tyrrell, 53, and Allsopp, 63, turned to the drugs enterprise to try and make some money because they were facing financial difficulties.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard the pair were involved in the transportation of the Class B drug on behalf of others with people above them in the chain organising the buying and selling of it. The amphetamine was being stored in Manchester before being brought down to Cardiff where it was due to be sold in wholesale amounts of one or two kilograms.

Shakir Khan

The 32-year-old was found with more than £8,000-worth of cocaine while driving in Cardiff. On April 22 this year police officers spotted him driving a black Volkswagen Passat just before 2pm in Bute Terrace.

They discovered the car had no insurance and had been linked with the supply of drugs in the past so they pulled the vehicle over. Prosecutor James Evans told a sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court that Khan and officers had a discussion about his insurance and he appeared to be "nervous" with officers suspecting he was involved in drug trafficking. Richard Mark Thomas

He was found with bags of cocaine and £1,000 cash when police raided a house said he was only there to buy a second-hand car. Just weeks after being released on bail following this incident Thomas was found in a vehicle with more bags of cocaine and a stun gun.

An examination of the defendant's phones showed he had been involved in supplying both cocaine and cannabis over a prolonged period and that he had continued dealing even while on bail.

Jonathan Walker

He sexually assaulted a young boy and filmed himself performing sex acts in front of the toddler then shared the videos with like-minded paedophiles online.

Walker also downloaded and distributed scores of vile videos of children and babies being abused and raped with the youngest victim in the clips estimated to be just a matter of months old. Read his sentencing here.

Byron Lewis

The robber had taken £800-worth of crack cocaine and drunk four bottles of vodka before assaulting a delivery driver with a sledgehammer. The victim said if had not stopped his attacker he believes he would have killed him.

The 38-year-old approached Argos driver Williams as he was making deliveries in Cae Fardre, near Church Village, at around 11am on May 26 last year. He shouted at the victim: "Give me f****** money – 250, where's my 250?".

Andrew Mann

The drug dealer turned up at a man’s house with a knife and then used his car as a weapon to run him over. The 28-year-old had recently began messaging Bethany Clark when on April 15, 2020, he asked her if she wanted to go out with him on a date.

She refused and explained because she was seeing another man. At this point Mann’s messages turned abusive and a short time later he turned up outside an address in Pembroke Dock where Miss Clark was visiting a friend. When she came out to speak to Mann, he showed her a knife that he had brought with him in the car and he said he was going to kill the man she was in a relationship with.

David Robinson

He performed sex acts in front of a vulnerable young girl. Robinson subjected his victim, who was of primary school age at the time, to the disgusting acts on two occasions.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard the 46-year-old was found guilty on June 23 this year of two counts of sexual activity in the presence of a child when he masturbated in front of the girl on two occasions. The sick incidents were described by the judge as "appalling" while the court also heard Robinson, of Coity Road, Bridgend, had left his victim afraid to be left alone and unable to feel comfortable with men. Andrew Peter Burns

He caused two crashes including one which saw a cyclist spend three weeks in intensive care when he drove around the streets of Cardiff after hours of drinking as part of a work night out. Burns, of Cae Glas Road, Cardiff, was out in the Welsh capital on the evening of December 6, 2021, with a group of colleagues celebrating the build-up to Christmas.

While out he visited a number of pubs including the Borough Arms pub and Miller & Carter restaurant where he had a meal and “five or six” rounds of alcohol. CCTV footage played in court showed Burns leaving a pub drunk and he was refused entry when he tried to go back to the Borough Arms because he was considered to be too intoxicated.

Jake Williams

He raped a sleeping woman after tearing through her clothing. Williams, 26, attacked the woman in a flat in November 2020 following a night of socialising, drinking, and dancing.

Williams' victim had been "violently sick" in the bathroom of the flat and had gone to sleep when Williams went into the room, tore through her clothing, and raped her. She woke during the attack and made it clear she was not consenting while she was left upset and crying, Cardiff Crown Court heard. Read his sentencing here.

Paul Lennox

The 66-year-old man sent someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl a series of sexually explicit messages and videos after contacting her on Facebook.

Lennox encouraged the youngster to perform sex acts on herself, repeatedly asked her for photographs, and mentioned going to see her so. In fact Lennox was conversing with a "decoy" social media profile which was being run by a so-called paedophile hunter group.

Aaron Diplock

The cocaine-dealing former soldier was caught trying to take wraps of the drug into a family festival while out of prison on licence following previous dealing.

A sniffer dog picked up Diplock as he was entering the In It Together festival in Port Talbot' with a stash of coke and £700 in cash. The 26-year-old threw the cocaine to a friend and tried to run off, but was detained. At the time of the offending he was on licence having been released after serving seven months of a two-year sentence previously imposed for Class A drug trafficking.

Craig Roomus

The "career burglar" who broke into a number of flats at an apartment complex in Cardiff refused to leave his cell for his sentencing. A court heard that the thief hung around the communal area before quickly following in behind a resident with a fob.

The 41-year-old was under the influence of drugs when he attended the Landmark Place apartment complex near Cardiff Queen Street railway station. He was seen acting suspiciously by the concierge

Aaron Davidson

The window cleaner stole £200 from an elderly man who let him into his home. He then knocked on other doors in the street but was turned away.

Davidson, 42, attended the home of his 71-year-old victim in Trealaw, Tonypandy, on January 10, 2020, and asked him if he wanted his windows cleaned for £5. The victim offered him £10 and the defendant began cleaning windows from inside the property.

A sentencing hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday heard Davidson was in possession of a squeegee and a push bike. At one point, the victim's niece attended and the victim left to attend his sister's house, leaving the defendant unattended.

Joshua Lee Rees, Paris Hodge and Craig Stephen Godfrey

A driver was lured into an ambush by a woman claiming her boyfriend had assaulted her before being carjacked and robbed at knife-point, a court heard.

The Good Samaritan was threatened with a brick and knife by hooded assailants, and then forced to drive to a cash machine. When the terrified driver eventually managed to flee the vehicle, the woman went to the police and made false allegations of rape against the man she had just helped to rob. Sending the trio down, a judge described the attack in Swansea city centre as "nasty, unpleasant, and extremely frightening".

Terance Jenkins

A motorcyclist died after ploughing into the back of Jenkins' car when he performed an emergency stop after taking to the road with the bonnet of his car held down by nothing other than a bungee cord. When the cord gave way the bonnet flipped open and smashed the windscreen of Terance Jenkins' car he stopped suddenly causing the crash.

Jenkins had denied causing death by dangerous driving, claiming he believed the bonnet was secure and the car was safe to drive but was convicted following a trial at Swansea Crown Court.

The court heard the defendant has 18 previous offences on his record of driving while disqualified, 15 for taking vehicles without consent or allowing himself to be carried in vehicles that had been taken without consent, and seven for drink-driving. Jenkins was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Stephen Harris

An entrenched paedophile repeatedly caught in possession of images of child abuse which he distributed breached a court order which prevented him from deleting internet history. He tried to lie to police, claiming he had unintentionally deleted internet history when he removed a storage card.

Harris was sentenced to a total of 18 months imprisonment. He was made subject to another sexual harm prevention order and sex offender notification requirements for 10 years.

Muaz Tarafdar

A heroin and crack cocaine dealer was caught after police began remotely monitoring the drugs phone line he was running. After identifying Muaz Tarafdar as the user of the mobile they swooped on him as he was getting ready to meet a customer.

He tried to escape on his bicycle but was wrestled to the ground. It took four officers to restrain the 25-year-old as he violently resisted arrest and when he was searched police found he was carrying 75 ready-to-sell £10 deals of crack and heroin. A subsequent search of his house revealed a "large amount of designer clothing and bundles of cash".

Cardiff Crown Court heard that just weeks before he was caught dealing Tarafdar had finished his licence period following a previous prison sentence for trafficking the same two Class A drugs on the streets of the capital. Tarafdar was sentenced to a total of 52 months in prison.

Clare Nicholls and Samantha Matthews

A group of opportunistic thieves stole a phone and a rucksack containing a laptop from an intoxicated man who had passed out on the floor. He was kicked on the floor and dragged along the ground as they tried to remove the rucksack from his back.

Clare Nicholls, 49, Tania Davies, 46, and Samantha Matthews, 41, robbed Gerard Walsh in Cardiff at around 4am on July 9 last year. They were caught on CCTV after passing their victim in Cathedral Road where he was lying on the floor having rolled off a wall.

Nicholls was sentenced to two years imprisonment. Matthews was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment suspended for two years and was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work, a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement, a 120-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement, and must pay £500 in court costs. Davies will be sentenced once she has been arrested and remanded in custody.

Saul Henvey

A serial rapist who attacked three different women over a two-year period has been handed a 27-year extended sentence. After raping the women Saul Henvey tried to "manipulate" them into not reporting the incidents – even telling one woman he attacked in woods that "it's not rape but love".

Homeless Henvey was caught after going on the run and a large-scale manhunt which saw police warning drivers not to pick up hitchhikers at the roadside.

Henvey was made the subject of 27-year extended sentence with a hospital and limitation direction. The sentence comprises 21 years in custody followed by a six-year extended licence. The sentence will initially be served in a secure hospital where he will be kept for as long as necessary for treatment. If his detention in hospital is considered no longer necessary he will be transferred to prison to serve the remainder of the custodial element of the sentence.

Andrew Page

A man attacked his former partner in her own home, threatening her with a knife and strangling her until she lost consciousness. The abuse lasted for several hours before Andrew Page went to sleep in the victim's bed with the knife on the bedside table while his ex lay next to him - awake and terrified - all night.

The 36-year-old later told a friend he had throttled his former partner to the point she had passed out but that the only thing he was bothered about was "what to do with it if it was dead".

Andrew Craig Page, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, with the threats to kill being incorporated in the offence, on the day he was due to stand trial. He was sentenced to 32 months in prison and handed a five-year restraining order.

Luke Thomas

A drug dealer was found in possession of £7,000-worth of crack cocaine at his home as well as £6,000 in cash and two drones. Upon being arrested he said "I'm f******. I'm never going to see my kids again."

Luke Thomas, 28, was visited by officers from the organised crime unit at his home in Cardiff. A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard a total of 76.72g of crack cocaine was found in the house with a value of £6,950. Also found was 6.54g of cannabis, £6,142 in cash, an extendable baton, and two drones. Thomas was sentenced to a total of 55 months imprisonment.

Arjan Bilani

A cannabis farm with more than 350 plants was discovered at a house in Cardiff with a value of up to £140,000. A total of 11 rooms in the house were dedicated to the operation of growing cannabis.

Arjan Bilani, 57, was discovered by police working as a gardener at a cannabis factory in Mackintosh Place, in Cathays. Recorder Robin Rouch sentenced Bilani to a total of eight months imprisonment. The defendant will possibly face deportation once his sentence has concluded.

Christopher Welke

A drug dealer was seen by police selling Valium tablets in a popular town centre park, a court has heard. Christopher Welke ran off when he saw officers approaching but was chased and caught. Police recovered a total of almost 1,600 Valium pills along with £2,373 in cash.

Welke, 40, has been committing crimes for a quarter of a century and has more than 200 previous offences on his record including 147 for theft and dishonesty matters. With a one third discount for his guilty plea Welke was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Stephen Harris

A man showed videos of children being sexually abused to a fellow swinger he met on a sex website to "heighten the sexual pleasure" of their encounter.

Former Admiral Insurance worker Stephen Harris met the man through the FabSwingers site, and during the course of their online chats asked him what was the "filthiest" pornography he had seen. The pair then met up to engage in sexual activity during which the defendant showed the man videos on his phone of young girls being raped. The man fled the encounter and reported what he had seen to the police.

With a one-third discount for his guilty pleas and in accordance with the sentencing guidelines the defendant was sentenced to two years in prison.

Paul Dobson

An intoxicated driver who crashed into two cars having drunk 10 pints of beer told a judge he needed to be placed on suicide watch after being jailed. He became angry and started swearing while being taken down to the cells.

Paul Dobson, 34, was estimated to be driving between 80mph and 90mph in a 40mph zone when he collided with Fiat 500 and a Ford Transit van in Bridgend at around 10pm on February 10. It caused his car to spin 180 degrees and he was found slumped unconscious over the wheel.

Dobson was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment and was disqualified from driving for two years and seven months.

An organised crime gang (OCG) who traded in more than £4.6m in cocaine laundered their profits into cryptocurrency which almost made the funds "untouchable". The conspiracy across Wales has resulted in 12 people being sentenced for their role in the enterprise.

In his sentencing remarks, Judge Jeremy Jenkins said: "Drugs with a street value of £4.6m were generated as a result and no less 40kg of pure cocaine was traded.... In all, this operation was concerned with 12 individuals which gives some indication of the scale of the operation. A specific communication system EncroChat was deployed by many coconspirators who falsely believed they were safe in the execution of their trade."
